These are our beloved and powerful and useful horses - Olivers and the newer White, a tribute to the Olivers of old.

1992 White American 60 MFWA
This is a White American, it has a 70HP Cummins diesel motor in it, and runs about 60HP at the PTO. We bought this used in summer 2000. On the back is our Vicon 7' 3-point hitch disc mower.
This is an extremely versatile tractor because it has a ROPS canopy, four wheel drive, differential lock, and its agility. Many other 4WD tractors steer about as easily as a hippo, this is more like a cat- quick and fast.
1972 Oliver 1955 MFWA
Here is our big boy, a 1972 beast with an attitude. It is a Waukesha diesel motor dynoed at 120HP now (was 108 from factory). Completely overhauled and in close to mint condition. You can see the size of the front tires- 16.9x26. Just huge... at least for the Catskills.
1968 Oliver 1650
This is probably the greatest tractor ever made... Or at least one of the very few great ones. It has the Waukesha 283 cubic inch diesel and pulls 66HP at the drawbar. Easily the most nimble and easy to drive tractors known to man. We use this to bale hay, rake, pull the chipper, chop corn, plow, disc, or just about anything else. Also, the 16 (as we call it) is the family-favorite.
196X Oliver 770
This is a 196X tractor my father bought, it had 7 hours on it when he bought it- almsot new. This has had a loader on it for almost the whole time. Used it to pack the silo, plow, seed, plant, rake, and ted. And, of course, the bucket makes this tractor indispensable. On the loader right here is "the grab" - a silage feeding attachment.
Oh yeah, the muffler is umm..... well..... interesting, eh?
1975 Oliver 1655 MFWA

This is an old picture, we have since changed it some - took the cab off so that we could see and breathe.  We put on a pair of fenders.  Then we put a three-spool valve on for the loader so that it is easier to operate and still run implements off the back without changing anything.

It came about 70 hp from the factory.  We bought it used with 3600 hours.  Now she has about 4200.  The loader is a 1710, probably, that the previous owner cut and welded so he could bolt it to the tub frame, in a mid-mount style used today,  instead of the conventional running it back under the rear axle - as with the 770 you see above.

Three working horses

Here we have, from left to right, the Oliver 1955 pulling the New Holland 638 baler, the Oliver 1650 on the New Holland (made by Kverneland)1327 wrapper, and the White American 60 running the Vicon 2200M 7' disc mower.  At the very bottom of the figure you can see and rusted/brown thing - that is the radiator cap for the Ford 8N I was driving when i clicked this pic.  The 8N is the raker.

In the shop

Here is a work-in-progress picture of the 1655 in its progression from cab to no cab and old hydraulic system to new one.  You can also see the new front tires we put on it in 2002.

At right is the 1650.  She is in the shop for a new clutch.  She has needed the lcutch for a couple of years and this winter is the time to fix it - so it doesn't decide to go in the middle of hay season next summer.  Hey ShepVA, do you like OUR front fenders for our 1650? :)
